PEAXACT Tour Part 9 – Real-Time Analysis
This final part shows how to use PEAXACT as a predictor for automated real-time analysis, introducing PEAXACT ProcessLink and the PEAXACT AppServer.
PEAXACT ProcessLink
As a front-end predictor app, PEAXACT ProcessLink provides real-time analysis of spectrum files with PEAXACT models in a convenient user interface. It links PEAXACT data analysis to any third-party spectrometer without the need to write custom software. ProcessLink uses a technique called "folder monitoring" to watch a directory for incoming files. New spectrum files are automatically analyzed in real-time. Results are immediately presented to the user in a real-time chart and are exposed to external applications by means of a built-in OPC UA server. This procedure is totally device-independent, i.e., it works with any lab or process instrument and any measurement software. All it needs is a PEAXACT model to analyze the data.
PEAXACT AppServer
The PEAXACT AppServer is a back-end predictor that provides an easy application programming interface (API) – either as a .NET assembly or as a COM component – to give developers full flexibility for integrating PEAXACT functionalities with their own applications.
Ready-to-use third-party predictors
For some third-party applications, the PEAXACT AppServer is shipped with ready-to-use interfaces to seamlessly deploy PEAXACT models on field devices, e.g., for Kaiser (HoloPro), Bruker (OPUS), tec5 (MultiSpec Pro II), and Magritek (SpinSolve). Other third parties have already integrated the PEAXACT AppServer into their measurement software themselves, e.g., Endress+Hauser (Raman RunTime), Bruker Tornado (HyperFlux PRO Plus), Bruker Tornado (Process Guardian), Optoquant (Optoquant), Metrohm (Vision), AspenTech (Process Pulse II), Optimal (synTQ), and Siemens (SIPAT).
